I just visited Luma in Canggu, and wow, what a place! This spot captures Bali’s coastal charm with a Mediterranean twist.

The restaurant’s design is stunning—think beautiful arched doorways, open spaces that flow seamlessly between indoors and outdoors, and a mix of Mediterranean and post-modern elements. It’s like stepping into a modern, stylish Mediterranean getaway with a distinct Bali touch.

I started off at the front terrace, which was super comfy and perfect for relaxing. The sunken amphitheater-style lounge was also a great spot to chill from day to night. The main dining area is where all the action happens in the evening, with a vibrant atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. What stood out the most was how Luma uses local, seasonal ingredients from Bali and nearby islands to reimagine Mediterranean classics. They keep the menu fresh and exciting, changing it based on what’s in season, which is awesome.

For a lighter bite, I tried the Baro Sourdough & Mushroom Butter and the Fried Squid & Aioli. Both were amazing! The Goat & Asiatico Croquettes were crispy outside, with tangy goat cheese inside—it was the perfect little treat. For the main course, I went with the Potato Ravioli. The ravioli was stuffed with creamy cheese and soft potato, drenched in a rich duck ragu. The shredded duck was so tender—no gaminess at all, just pure flavor. I also couldn’t resist the Linguine, which came with slipper lobster, prawns, and a kick of tomato and chili. So good!

And, of course, I had to try a drink. The Rosemary Negroni was fantastic, but I also really enjoyed the Raspberry Mojito with its citrusy twist—it was refreshing and light.

Luma is definitely a must-visit if you’re in Canggu. But you should be ready to spend IDR 300,000+ to get the best experience. It’s got the perfect blend of food, ambiance, and that laid-back Bali vibe!
