Some stories aren’t told on land. They begin the moment your face meets the water, when sound fades and movement slows. East Bali holds a world like that beneath its surface, quiet, alive, and full of small wonders that only reveal themselves when you take the time to look.
It’s not our first time with Let’s Dive, and I always come back with a smile. For those unfamiliar with Tulamben, this area is located on Bali’s stunning northeastern coastline, just after a famous Amed. But Tulamben has a special magnetism, It was formerly just recognized as a tranquil fisher village, but now it is alive with vibrant marine ecosystems, also a place where The Liberty Wreck, an underwater wonder located.
When we arrived, Nyoman Roman and the team welcomed us warmly in their office. We didn’t dive today, but we didn’t want to miss life under the sea of Tulamben, so we had fun snorkelling. e started from the coast near their office. When your goggles touch the water, they become a window into the underwater world of East Bali. We had conversations with some people who had just finished their dive session, and they all seemed to share similar stories, every Tulamben dive in this enthralling area is filled with encounters with majestic barracudas, groupers, sea turtles, and the rare Napoleon wrasse that are constantly gliding around you.
They also have described the USS Liberty wreck as a surreal sight, with sunlight penetrating the deep blue and making a pillar of light.
Tulamben is more than just a place to visit. We highly recommend Let’s Dive to be a friend of your underwater world experience.
